Synopsis
The story of Bishop A. Seogijapranata SJ in the crucial era in the wake of Indonesian independence (1940-1949). As a religious leader, he did not lead by commanding an armed unit, rather he used his diplomatic skills to help the infant Republic, and by getting involved in humanitarian works for the people. He was there when the country most needed his service. He stood up for, and with, the nation during the early yeras of its life as a new republic.

Garin Nugroho
Garin Nugroho is a new-generation filmmaker and the first Indonesian director who was acclaimed in prestigious international film festivals from Cannes to Berlin. His works include feature films, music videos and theatre works, reflecting multicultural influences from Aceh and Java, Sumba to Papua. His Opera Jawa, has been screened in theatres around the world and considered a masterpiece by Variety magazine. He is also the director of Yayasan SET, which focuses on social and political education in Indonesia.
