TIFFCOM 2012, the content market affiliated with the 25th Tokyo International Film Festival, held a briefing for companies interested in exhibiting at TIFFCOM 2012. Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and UNIJAPAN, the briefing was held at TIFFCOM’s new venue, the Hotel Grand Pacific Le Daiba in Odaiba, Tokyo.
132 people from various entertainment companies attended the meeting, including many local TV stations and animation production companies that are new to TIFFCOM and eager to export their content.
For its ninth event, the TIFFCOM 2012 venue will move from Roppongi Hills to Odaiba in the Tokyo Bay area. The new location offers 20% more exhibition space for our expanding content market. With screening rooms, DVD library, and presentation rooms all on the same floor, TIFFCOM is being reinvented as a “one-stop marketplace” for all types of content and content business.
During the briefing, it was announced that three other content markets, the “2012 9th Tokyo International Music Market (TIMM)”, the “Tokyo International Anime Festival（TIAF）2012 Autumn”, and the “Creative Market Tokyo 2012 (CMT)”, will hold exhibitions with TIFFCOM. This is the first time for all of these content markets to hold exhibitions at the same time and in the same place.
In addition, METI announced the launch of a “Fund for Exporting Japanese Content” to promote exports of Japanese content. The fund will help subsidize the production fees related to overseas sales, theatrical releases, and TV broadcasting.
