TIFF and its allied event Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia will hold a HALLOWEEN CINEMA NIGHT to offer a networking opportunity to cineaste and cinema fans at Le Baron de Paris (Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo) on Oct. 27 (Sat) during the 25th TIFF.
The 25th TIFF will host a party with a Halloween theme and “The Power of Films, NOW!” as its message. We hope to cultivate a new core of younger generation cineaste and cinema fans by promoting the festival from various angles.
The party will be organized in cooperation with Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, and supported by Champagne of Cinema, MOËT & CHANDON. As a symbol of TIFF, the Green Carpet will be rolled out at the door to welcome the party guests.

Mining the diamond in the rough in the world of short films…Short films are an established art form, the “first step” to realizing the dreams of young filmmakers around the world. This festival was inaugurated in Tokyo’s Harajuku district in 1999 to introduce this new and exciting form of moving image to Japan. In 2004 the festival was officially accredited by the Academy Awards®, making our festival Grand Prix winner eligible for nomination in the Short Film Category of the Annual Academy Awards®. In SSFF & ASIA 2012, we received more than 4400 entries from all over the world. 80 films were selected from 27 countries/regions to screen in official competitions.

■MOËT STAR AWARD in SHORT SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL & ASIA
“MOËT STAR AWARD” will be given to a person who has the 5 common philosophies of “MOËT & CHANDON,” the champagne brand beloved by cinema, and “Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia,” matching both the brand images and promising STAR of the film industry. 7 filmmakers of the films screened at this year’s festival will be the nominees and 1 finalist, a person with the brightest STAR, will receive the award. The supplementary prizes are the trophy and also a trip to MOËT & CHANDON MAISON in France.
